City of Toronto GDPA Program

Toronto City Hall

In 2001 the Local Government Program began offering the Graduate Diploma In Public Administration (GDPA) off-campus to twenty-seven staff members of the City of Toronto. This special arrangement was originally facilitated through the office of Dr. Aaron Pun, Manager, Organization Development & Learning with the City of Toronto, Human Resources Division. Members of the first City of Toronto GDPA class graduated in Autumn, 2002.

Subsequent classes were run in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2017 (GDPA).

The City of Toronto GDPA program has been honoured with a Public Service Quality Fair 'Gold' Award which recognizes excellence in the public sector.

This stream of the GDPA is currently on an indefinite hold. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the Online and On Campus GDPA streams.

Questions about the program can be directed towards Local Government Program.

The Local Government Program welcomes inquiries from municipalities and agencies interested in similar arrangements.
